There's this idea that thanks to LLMs reviewing code will become more important than writing code.

It misses the idea that writing code includes reviewing code as a side effect.

For those who only speak "LLM": writing code is like generating your own data on which you train to review code.

Incidentally, this short 4 minute video triggered in me a fundamental insight into why quaternions work: an embedding in a higher-dimensional space with one constraint avoids singularities or discontinuities when representing the embedded space.

A must-watch talk from @scott.hanselman.com. Scott and I are of the same vintage, and I am embarrassed (mortified!) by how revolting some of our generational peers have become. Technology still has a unique power to improve our lives, but wow, do we ever have work to do. youtu.be/dVG8W-0p6vg?...

It occurred to me that it used to be difficult to convince "the business" that 100% SLO was not achievable. No defects was so difficult to counter. I'm amazed how much LLMs flipped the whole thing on its head and nobody cares anymore 😄.

Many people think of the brain as a hierarchical system, and in many ways it is. But there is also a lot of non-hierarchical processing going on. Check out this pre-print where we review and propose functional roles for the different long-range connections in the neocortex 🧠

It's fascinating watching developers discover they get better results using "A.I." if they prompt with tests, work in small steps, test continuously, review and refactor throughout, integrate often, and work in smaller teams, and attributing those results to autocomplete.
