I use "McNamara Fallacy", but mathwashing conveys the point, better, without readers needing to go look up what the McNamara fallacy is.
(Plus the McNamara fallacy is technically more about being misled into measuring what's easy to measure, rather than "numbers give the illusion of competence".)
