look at some point you gotta face the fact that not everything is a distraction from everything else and there’s just a lot of bad stuff going on all the time
Schumer: "It makes you think that maybe to Trump he wants to distract the American people, as he always does, from the skyrocketing costs they are facing, from the Epstein files."

it's a real symptom of widespread anti-progressive media bias that an explicitly progressive candidate is expected to feel a need to be apologetic about being progressive.
It's so weird to say a politician "doubled down" on.....the very explicit promises he made during the campaign?

Isn't that what promises are?

A murderer is on the loose in NYC. He killed a man, 25 years old, immigrant from Ecuador, who was just walking home from celebrating the New Year.

His weapon was an SUV, so this gets treated differently from other killings. He may get a ticket— for fleeing.
Memorial grows for man killed by hit-and-run driver in Queens, friend critically injured
Flowers and candles adorn the scene where 25-year-old Darwin Cargua was killed on 102nd Street in Corona.

there are some people I miss hearing from from the other site but sports are definitely not a dead zone in my experience
Skill issue of the highest order. My skyline has people talking about sports constantly, every sport you can imagine. I got multiple darts people. I got a fuckin dog sledding person, and not just for the Iditarod. Skill issue.

Wanted to round out the year in new release films with IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT this afternoon, but that seems unlikely. So here’s what I saw this year, in ranked order.

Pretty quiet year for me, missed a lot

Right, in the way that your weirdo conservative family members say NYC is full of “crime” because they have to see a homeless person sometimes
When "confused" Trump supporters say "I thought he was just gonna deport the criminals" you need to remember we arent talking about criminals as a legal term. We are talking about criminals as a *social* classification.

this seems specifically designed to break mail-in voting (where deadlines are defined by postmark)
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

It's important for everyone to understand that this was by design by The Powers That Be, who experienced existential panic in the first half of Biden's first term as workers had a favorable job market for the first time in two decades. They put in huge effort to stopping it.

the problem with dedicating campaign funds toward charitable endeavors is what if you lose and then all you’ve done is helped people in need in your community?

Also for almost every podcast, the video component adds nothing to the show. The only podcast I ever saw actually add value through its video component was The Step Through
Somehow 90% of my favorite podcasts have not yet pivoted to video, but I might just turn audio-only podcast purism into a personal shtick. Because the truth is, I really don't want to see anyone's face. No offense
