I don't want to commit yet to writing a proper description. Something something animals , something something tacos.

By far the most annoying Bluesky habit is posting a screenshot of an article without linking to it.

It makes the quotes useless for anything besides reacting to the poster's hot take, which is the least valuable thing I can imagine.

Airports are fascinating. I am especially amused by the contrast between the aspirational, old-world, quasi-aristocratic jetsetting image presented by the ads and shops and the fact that 99% of flyers are miserable, sweatpanted folks in various states of goblinhood.

Also, how the hell did the island end up near Barbados? Why be on the wrong side of the American continent? Why retcon Isla Sorna for no reason?

Hawaii is part of the whole visual identity! Don't make it all look like Southeast Asia!

Darn it!

It is unfortunate that Jurassic Park, one of the greatest movies of all time and a true feminist masterpiece, never had any sequels or reboots.

I have been thinking about why I don't like how One Hundred Years of Solitude looks and I think it is the lighting. Something is just off and makes everything have an artificial quality, almost like a thin veneer of AI slop.

Not saying they used any AI crap, just that it has that kind of look...

This Netflix Hundred Years of Solitude series feels... uninspired? Like a Disney live action remake of the book... It has most of the elements but does not do anything interesting with them.

What if I told you that the only reason I am bald is that I’m afraid of a Ratatouille situation? What if I told you that I’d have so much hair if not for the fear of a rat using me like a puppet? These are modes of control, Neo. This is how they manipulate us. Ratatouilles, Neo. Rats that pull hair.

I have to say, while the platform is still way too Western, I am impressed by the Syria coverage I can find here. Getting closer to the best days of Twitter.

This is a bit of a 🦉 meta-question, but is there anyone using an ebook reader or a tablet instead of a physical field guide? What are the experiences?

I was scrolling through some old stuff on my phone and remembered this one.

The quality is wack, but it still feels special with the dawn chorus and the incredible Kenyan early morning light.

I always had a particular liking for seeking black rhinos in Nairobi National Park. This one was the first of many encounters, from a few years ago. 🦊

It's the Feast Day of St George Michael (his birthday). To celebrate, I suggest you listen to his many divine jams, do some mutual aid, and flirt with a stranger. May he continue to guide us all in our endeavours. Ora pro nobis, Sancte Georgi.
