Professional Philatelist, stamp-dealer, PTS Member - that's the work stuff, also first and foremost an Evertonian, a Petrol Head and Twitter escapee. Let's hope this is as much fun as the other place used to be...

I've been on Bluesky for a while now and can't really see much of a stamp community on here, that seems to be more on Instagram. I've given up on Twitter, so I think I'll change my social media focus a bit. Insta will be for stamp/work related stuff and I'll keep posting here, but will be more of...
I'm sure that the whole point of social media is to re-home two red foot tortoises?
Serious question- does anyone want two 20 year old red foot tortoises? I’m moving house and won’t have a garden for them. Happy to deliver them within a reasonable distance DM with any questions. (They actually belonged to my son but he’s cleared off to live in Australia and left them behind…).

I try to steer clear of political opinion on social media on the basis that my personal views really are a pot pourri. My main beliefs are be fair and try and treat folk you may not like with basic respect. However these attacks on the BBC can get in the fucking bin.

Earlier this week I spoke to London Centric about the Ringways Map and all things unbuilt London - they’ve dedicated the whole of their latest edition to the story! substack.com/home/post/p-...
Would your home have been under a motorway?
"The most astonishing and destructive thing never to happen to London," says the man who has spent twenty years researching the first true map of the unbuilt Ringways.

An old, wooden, stamp vending machine with a posting box below. I'm tempted to try and put some #stamps in it!

As Black History Month draws to a close, we thought we'd share this entry in a baptism register for Buckingham, April 1571. It features a 14 year old boy called Samson Aethiops, noting that he was born in Africa.

Still a useful publication today. You can keep your fancy internet and AI nonsense...
This was my "go to" when I was #StampCollecting, several decades ago. I forgot I had it! I think this was produced for many years, but I'm not sure when this one was printed. Sometime in the early 1960s, I'm guessing. I know I always put my tie on before breaking out my #Stamps! #Philately

Part of what draws me to #philately is the wonder that stamps like these have survived more than 175 years of history. They have passed through wars, revolutions, and hands long turned to dust, serving as quiet reminders that even the smallest things can carry a story.
