With the Rule 5 Draft coming up, we look at which prospects could be selected, who could be protected, and who WILL be protected:

Amid dozens of Rule 5 Draft eligible Red Sox prospects, one stands out for protection
The Rule 5 Draft is nearing and the Boston Red Sox should be active. They'll surely eye attractive picks around the league, as well as protect some of their mos

1 Houston
2 Michigan
3 Arizona
4 Duke
5 Illinois
6 UConn
7 Purdue
8 Gonzaga
9 Louisville
10 Alabama
11 St John’s
12 Kentucky
13 Texas Tech
14 Florida
15 BYU
16 Iowa St

Both Houston & Michigan keep winning narrowly. The Jaland Lowe injury is discouraging. I’d like to just forget about last week.
Not a lot to go on yet, but here’s how I’d rank the top 16 in college hoops through one week:

1 Houston
2 Michigan
3 Arizona
4 Kentucky
5 Duke
6 Alabama
7 St John’s
8 UConn
9 Illinois
10 Florida
11 Purdue
12 BYU
13 Gonzaga
14 Texas Tech
15 Iowa St
16 Wisconsin

Arizona and Alabama impressive.
Waited til teams had a sample of games to judge before ranking the top 16 weekly last yr. Was fun, so I’m doing it again. YouTube & Disney have me blacked out so far, but the increase in quality exhibitions was a guide. Was primed to have Kentucky 2nd after the Purdue scrimmage until the Gtown egg.

What’s it like to play as well as you can possibly play and only lead by 7 at the half?
Kentucky was down by as many as 18 points in the first half.

Still waiting to see the Alabama version of Mo. Moreno looks like our best big and I can’t decide whether that is promising or frightening for this team.
Really disappointed in our older front court guys- BG and Mo D. Being throughly dominated inside. #BBN

Finally, the juice is back in the Kentucky-Louisville rivalry.

After a few years of relative calm, this one is heating up again. And tomorrow night should be one of the most-anticipated meetings between the Cats and the Cards in a long time.

Finally, the juice is back in the Kentucky-Louisville basketball rivalry
After years of calm between the Cats and the Cards, one of college basketball’s fiercest rivalries has new life heading into Tuesday’s game.

It feels weird today to have UK and UofL playing, and it may feel even weirder in a month or so, but that won’t stop me from diving into stats against low majors to find what might be important tonight. Where might each time find an edge? hoops-insight.ghost.io/weve-never-k...
We've never known less about UK and UofL
It's November 11th and the best rivalry in college basketball has shown up at your front door like Cousin Eddie in "Christmas Vacation". You are caught extremely off guard that this is happening right...

It’s interesting to see Breslow speak so directly about this now. It’s been the narrative behind the scenes for sometime as Mayer is yet to make it through a season fully healthy.
"It could help him hit the ball harder, more consistently. But I think, more than anything, it will just help him manage the workload of a full season and just be able to withstand the demands of a full season. Which is, frankly, something that he hasn't been able to do."

Breslow said Story is the shortstop for 2026, and the team feels confident in his defensive ability at the position.

Breslow says the team’s priorities this offseason are the addition of middle-of-the-order power and a starter who could pitch either alongside or right behind Crochet. He said the Sox won’t be spending much time on Nos 4 or 5 starters.

In the last month, the FBI has charged players from two different leagues for roles in sports-betting scandals.

Either legalized gambling is exposing corruption that’s always been there.

Or it’s creating it.

Either answer is terrible for sports.
