I hope Schwarber's bat doesn't slow down.

In 2025, he ranked 5th in average bat speed and 4th in fast swing rate.

His 2026 steamer projection is .227/.351/.481, 40 HR.

There are questions that need to be answered about Marte’s clubhouse stuff this year and the sudden openness to trading him by well respected, former Boston guys. But AZ’s interest in CF and pitching matches if it’s more of an exchange of better fitting roster puzzle pieces.
Latest notes with @WillSammon:

*SP trade market

*Woodruff/MIL

*What Edwin Díaz wants

*MIA, PIT opening wallets?

*SD internal rotation options

*Marte/AZ

Sounds likely that Kristian Campbell is going to go into next season as a full-time outfield and not bounce around between positions:

With Giolito not getting the QO today, there has been an uptick in Sandoval talk. His lowest walk rate between 2021-2024 was 9.4%, with a 10.2% average over his last 460 IP.

Here are the Red Sox starting pitching seasons with 100 IP and 10% BB% since 2000:

Fun fact, even after George Springer hit .240/.316/.389 though 2023-24, some people with the Red Sox wanted to acquire him last winter in an Alex Bregman type role.

Doesn't happen, Springer goes on to hit .309/.399/.560 32 HR this year, and has his team in the WS tonight.

I've been looking at the potentially available starting pitching group and got to MacKenzie Gore. WTF is this? From afar, I thought I was going to be looking at a surefire-2 / budding ace. This is insanity.

Every new "2026 Red Sox roster" I see someone post seems to have the Sox acquiring like 40% of the good players projected to be available via FA+Trades this winter, and the lineup still ends up looking sketchy.
