It’s only a consideration bc Eaton realistically may have been one of the 3 most effective hitters the last month.
I’d probably start Lowe at 1b and Eaton in RF instead of Abreu, and use Abreu mid game against a choice RH RP (Leiter). But if Lowe struggles vs Fried, I like the Rodon matchup less.

They are waiting to see if Yankees are in the Wildcard. They will be the 6:08 pm game. If it’s TOR in the WC, I’m guessing they will be the 1:08 pm game unless it’s against BOS.

The Tigers are providing a ton of cover for the Astros collapse. All three division leaders from July 3rd are playing themselves to the bottom or out of the playoff race.

Surely the 4th pitch to Max Muncy in the 3rd and 3rd pitch to Adrian del Castillo in the 8th are sufficient evidence that Marvin Hudson has no business umpiring any playoff games.

Wasn’t as bad as the BOS-TOR strike zone but still sub-optimal. Guards got a slight benefit, but the big thing I noticed was because the Tigers were getting frustrated with their own tailspin they were letting reasonable borderline calls late get them to further meltdown.

These misses just aren’t even close. The Springer K was about as bad as they come, but the Rafaela and Abreu called strikes were as bad. And all those balls called at the bottom of the zone really aren’t borderline.

There was 1 out and men on 1st and 2nd with Seattle up 6-4. He doubled up the runner on 2nd to end the game. Might have scored both if he missed it.

Everything under the hood is so bad this year, but in the past it’s been so different. Makes me think there’s an injury. Might be worth a flier and after 10-20 days off of rest maybe you get the 2022-24 version and an upgrade over Toro.

Thank everything that is holy that Tony Mazz doesn’t have to do his own scouting reports. Roman Anthony has the 4th highest OBP in the majors since his promotion and is 4 outs above average defensively. Only one person on earth scouting him said he should be a DH.

With this news, #RedSox only have $33,465 of pool space left. Garrison Sumner can be signed for $150k not towards the pool, so they can offer him up to $183,465 w/o any penalties. Given it’s taken this long, wonder what the hold up is. Maybe they couldn’t get others under slot to offer home enough?
