I was wondering just the other day why haven’t parents done a whole moral panic about AI image generation and now I’m realizing holy shit I’m the parent that needs to be moral panicking.

the water thing about genAI is bullshit but the thing where it makes on-demand nudes and CSAM isn't and the thing where it talks you into killing yourself isn't and those seem pretty bad

for these situations, i think:
- the person who prompts it should be charged with a crime
- the company who owns it must be regulated to put reasonable prompt rejection to prevent someone from trying
- there are companies whose entire business model is this; they should be fined and jailed to hell
So we just accept this then? This is a legitimate use of technology going forward? This vile individual's account is just prompt after prompt asking Al to alter real-life images of women. The law needs to catch up with technology now - because we can't trust these tech companies to police themselves

This is absolutely how I feel trying to go down this rabbit hole yet again and finding it coming up short

AI is great at making people believe things that aren’t real.

I haven’t found anything else that it’s really great at yet.

It did some cool things for me, implemented thunderstorms really well with cool effects, but I'm not keeping it.

It didn't do the reversing of the plow well at all and wouldn't fix itself. It broke the config menu multiple times.

This isn't a complicated little app

I'm tapping out here

I don't know if it's just Java, or my skill issues or it's just not that good, but what it's doing is absolutely so far from what I would do with the same instructions.

From little security issues to just making up annotations library APIs and downgrading dependencies.
I think I'm going to attempt yet again to do some agentic coding.

My goal will be to build something I've actually built before so I know the problem space deeply. I'll also do it in a stack that I used to build this before too.

What tooling should I use? Cursor? Claude Code? Something else?

Got my Sunlu dryer setup on the AMS. Excited to see how this works out.

What's next, if your house is not entirely transparent it is a hostile activity?

People in the UK love to look down at the US decent into authoritarianism and ignore their own.
Creating apps like Signal or WhatsApp could be 'hostile activity,' claims UK watchdog

My next leaflet, a little reminder to myself when I get stuck in an unnecessary planning rut for building new projects.
Just do it
Seriously... just do it, what can go wrong?

I'll catch-up one day maybe, today is not that day though 🥴
I just completed "Lobby" - Day 3 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/3

I know, I know I'm really behind now. I'm playing catch-up today. So far the theme of this year is "I should have done part 1 the same way I did part 2" 😅
