On Feb. 6, 2022, Mitchell McIntyre murdered a woman in Creston and later told doctors he also killed a man in Kimberley.
Both deaths were initially ruled accidental.

The province just confirmed the two new cases of CWD were detected from hunter harvests near Cranbrook and Jaffray.
So new cases continue to be identified in areas where CWD has previously been detected over the last year or so.

The BC Conservative Party just announced they have removed John Rustad as their party leader.

Comes hours after Rustad said he was staying on despite 20 MLAs calling for his removal, arguing there was no mechanism for the party to turf him as leader after winning his leadership review.

NEW: BCGov says a deer harvested east of Enderby may have Chronic Wasting Disease. Initial tests on the sample detected prions (abnormal proteins) which may indicate the presence of CWD.
So far, the only test-positive cases of CWD in the province are from the East Kootenay region.

Columbia-Kootenay-Southern Rockies MP Rob Morrison has launched an e-petition seeking federal intervention between BC/AB and health care access issues.
The issue: BC-based patients who live in border communities cannot get care in Alberta, which is much closer than having to go to Kelowna/Vancouver
