The St. Eugene resort itself is a former residential school site that closed in 1970.
It was purchased by the Ktunaxa Nation over 25 years ago & transformed into what it is today.

Grateful for the invite to a prescribed burn in the Bull River area near Cranbrook this afternoon, which was a part of the Kootenay ʔa·kinq̓uku TREX (training exchange).
Really interesting to see the real-time operation of a prescribed burn and watching how that training was put into practice.

Local dignitaries, including local government elected officials, Interior Health senior executives and Ktunaxa Nation leadership, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the $232 million F.W. Green Home expansion project in Cranbrook today.
It will be a 5-storey facility w/ 150 beds at full buildout.

Interior Health is reporting a potential measles exposure at a McDonalds in Sparwood.

There's no confirmed measles case *in* Sparwood, however, a visitor travelling within Interior Health with a confirmed measles case was at the restaurant on June 8 between 3:30-5 pm, per a news release.

NEW: The estimated budget for a 150-bed long-term care project in Cranbrook has ballooned by $75 million, per Interior Health.
The total estimated budget for the F.W. Green Memorial Home redevelopment is now at $232 million — a 67 per cent jump from the initial proposed budget of $156.5 million.
