Ok so I only just found out these existed and while they’re clearly useful for my fatigued ass, they also just seem generally useful because cleaning the shower is the worst chore: www.kmart.com.au/product/long...

well, that's certainly an interesting thing for nvidia to say in a memo they knew would get leaked.
In the memo, “Nvidia also responds to claims that the ‘current situation is analogous to historical accounting frauds (Enron, WorldCom, Lucent) that featured vendor financing and SPVs [special purpose vehicles.)’”

I was listening to a podcast through my tv before my sofa bed was delivered but I turned it off bc the title was “aqua tofana: how to kill your husband” which seemed a lil suss

I think this is a very important point in yimby discourse: people say they don’t like densification but in London at least the densification is happening anyway. It happens via house shares, kids living in parents houses forever etc. you get the densification with or without more housing!
A long time ago Ian Mulherin made this chart and this is densification. That part is already happening! Look at the line for London!

The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.

I have not seen any reputable proof of this. Just so it’s clear, any public source info can be used to train AI. Reddit is being scraped constantly. So is bluesky. So are public discussion boards of all types. I see a lot of fearmongering lately so please cite sources
Just so it's clear. It's not allowing AI because it's trying to create a clean dataset for training AI. It's not because any of the involved parties actually care about human created art.

Demons can lie to you. You have to rebuke them categorically, rather than fold when they say the right words.

The app plans to feature more than 10,000 previously archived Vines and does not allow AI-generated content.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.
