It’s no surprise that only 31% of trans people trust a legal system built to enforce prejudice, says Jess O’Thomson.

Trans women are already banned from all of the sports at an international federation level already. This framing is a lie aimed at hiding the fact they're now going after other women that they don't like.

They've changed it back again now, but changing a quote is a huge red flag. The BBC are repeatedly demonstrating that there are ideologues directly interfering with the meaning of stories they report relating to trans people, and this should be a far bigger deal than it is
In this piece, admitting the BBC has broken its impartiality rules re. trans people, the BBC further breaks its impartiality rules by changing a quote saying "trans identity" to "trans ideology".

Saw a news report yesterday about children as young as 9 being given weight loss jabs on the NHS, and I think it shows just how utterly bullshit the “lack of research into long term impacts” excuse for banning puberty blockers for trans kids really was. It’s purely ideological.

Why do people keep badgering Bluesky to let them have private accounts? Why does social media like this need private accounts? We already have a million places for private conversation. People just use it for harassment, I don't want it.

Ok but Christian Calgie is the Express political editor. He's a journalist. And in his frame, he's "got them" to commit to this. I mean, that's weird, isn't it? Isn't that a strange thing for a journalist to say?
This from X is a striking example of what I argue in today’s column. Reform and the Tories are out here gleefully saying disabled people on Motability should be forced to drive a 3-wheeler, like a scarlet letter. The stigma is not an accident - it’s the design.

As a trans woman in the UK, it's comforting to know that if I'm ever brutally murdered by people motivated by vicious hatred, that my family can avenge my death by embarking on a polite campaign to ban young people from using self checkouts, the real culprit in my demise.

A much underrated reason for the absolute death of bricks and mortar retail is that every time you just want to make a quick purchase of a single £30 item, you're stuck behind someone serving someone with a query over £1.27 that takes 15 hrs to resolve

Further, there is a near 100% guarantee that conveyors etc will still charge to verify an identity in these circumstances anyway.
It is of course almost 100% certain that *every single word* of this post is a lie.

This is why “do not comply in advance” is the answer.
Making this barbarism expensive to police makes this more of a problem to this Labour government than the in-built attacks on human rights.
Which is sickening.

Begging people to comprehend there is a vast difference between 'purity' and 'being opposed to people espousing beliefs which undermine the movement against fascism'.
There is no point aligning with people who want to create the conditions that fascism thrives in.

Folks demanding political / ideological purity fail to see that this is no longer a movement belonging to the left / liberals. This is an opposition against fascism. By definition it must be big tent. Failure to grasp this: see divided oppositions in Eastern Europe as your failed examples.

And as we learned from that, the first step in all of these things is framing something with an obvious and well studied correct answer as a debate knowing that doing so means that ~20% of people will choose the wrong answer just out of contrarianism, and immediately you've created a split
In normal times one would think Leavers would realise it's a vote-loser. But that's not the point: as with trans rights they're trying to change public opinion through constant propaganda. It took little over 7 years to go from the cusp of Gender Recognition Act liberalisation to de facto abolition

There's an awful lot wrong with this, but what really stands out to me is Reeves saying this at an event and then just asking people to not say anything about it before Thursday or Friday!?! This is absolutely rank incompetence
