A new verse from returning contributor @tracyroyce.bsky.social:

Gimme that glorp!
So what if I mooch
your munch, splooch
half-chewed food?
I’m in the mood
to slop some slorp.

Lupino is SO great in this movie! Love Jefty's midcentury nightclub / bowling alley.

Favorite musical performance in a #FilmNoir ~ IDA LUPINO has a very unique style playing piano and singing One for My Baby (And One More for the Road) in ROAD HOUSE (1948)

After Ida sings, Celeste Holm says
"She does more without a voice than anybody I've ever heard"

This movie is BAM right out of the gate with a dynamite sequence featuring Cloris Leachman. But the bonkers ending defies words. ALSO: Special features on the disk are interesting. Apparently screenwriter A.I. Bezzerides and source material author Mickey Spillane weren't fond of one another.

Watched this film (Rope, 1948) back-to-back with Gun Crazy (1950) and found myself wishing John Dall had made more films.
