As news grew more critical, people had more reason to find journalism distasteful. What people do not like about the media is its implicit or explicit criticism of their heroes or their home teams. No one, famously, likes the bearer of bad news.

Out of the hundreds of essays I have written and published in the last few years, the ones that make MAGA incredibly angry aren’t about abortion or guns or trans rights.

The essays that make them lash out are about school funding and voting rights...

Such a sad rep for TN😞
Our founding documents include “separation of church and state” exactly to prevent @TNGOP’s unconstitutional push for forcing religion on citizens.
No to TN’s HB1491
WATCH: “Where’s my kid gonna go, Gino? He’s in Kindergarten.”

Rep. Gino Bulso’s HB 1491 requires Tennessee public schools to teach the Bible in K-12 — he defends it by saying parents can “opt out”, but doesn’t seem to have thought through what that actually means for young kids.

In reality, nonvoters have views that are less ideologically coherent than those of regular voters—which is to say, they think more like swing voters than base voters.
The belief that there is a hidden reservoir of left-wing voters who will bother to show up at the polls only if a sufficiently progressive candidate activates their interest is a decades-old myth.

The danger of fakery today is that the average person isn’t trained to differentiate between original & manipulated images, or wholly generated images. As the technology to create fully fledged fakes improves exponentially, our ability to tell the difference will be reduced to zero.

It is one thing to seize old ballots; it is quite another to imagine federal agents seizing ballots from county offices on election night or the day after. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/dojs...

Hey, Tennessee. This is our leadership.
In most states, regulators try to keep lending and betting separate.

But in Tennessee, when a payday lending company wanted to include a sports gambling company at its storefronts, lawmakers stepped aside to let it happen.
