White-tailed deer once nearly vanished from North America — down to just 1% of their current population.

Their population recovery tells a bigger story about conservation, capitalism, hunting and coexistence.

America cannot long remain free, nor first among nations, if it becomes the kind of place where universities are dismantled because they don't align politically with the current head of the government.

THIS THIS THIS
A reminder that every small bit of good you do - whether it be putting art into the world, helping a friend or stranger, donating to a good cause, or just listening to someone who needs to vent - offsets all the evil in the world just a little bit. And sometimes that's just what the world needs.

Every citizen in the USA should be obliged to read or watch

The Handmaid's Tale.

Now.

Oh. Damn it. It's already banned in parts of the USA.

When a book becomes alive. Too quick.

It seems it's already too late for a rising. But I do hope I am wrong.

It cannot be overestimated how vitally important it is to raise your kids to be emotionally intelligent.

Intelligence is all well and good but what America is experiencing right now is more a result of lack of emotional intelligence than intelligence.

I care less about Signal chats and more about the blacksite offshore concentration camps we're sending random people to without any semblance of a trial, so I'll be interested to see if the national media can rub their bellies and pat their heads at the same time this week. Historically they can't.

The concentration of wealth in the hands of an elite few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy.

When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, the American people don't have a voice.

The result? Demagoguery and corruption.

In case you're wondering:

This administration is fabricating reasons and deporting students, green card holders and visa holders to run up its deportation numbers because they either can't find the "criminal illegals" or they never existed. Nothing is going on here that is making America safer.

If you're a billionaire, then you'll barely notice a few thousand dollars a year in higher prices at the store from these Trump tariffs - plus you can count on him to get you another big tax break for the wealthy.

But for everyone else, this is a big deal, and a bad one.
