also the movement is big enough to have people in it who don't like each other

at some level you gotta have a professional approach to organizing, for lack of a better word

"i don't like this person, i won't talk to them at a party but i'll take a rubber bullet for them on the ground" is healthy

amazing how the entire machine can pivot within 24 hours. no need to slowly upsell the argument; just issue new marching orders

But this…? Darlings, my daffodils in the sidewalk cracks: not this.

The attempted discourse here is bleeeeak! If you’re modding tits on a miniature cartoon dog you’re either being a funny little weirdo (complimentary) or you’re doing some severe loser shit (derogatory)!

I wonder what this excuse sounds like to the global south, or any country exploited by the major powers. At what point does an electorate accept responsibility for its leadership? How many decades of #NotMyWar? Our taxes did this, but not “us”, y’know? Happy we cleared that up, Have a nice death 👋

People everywhere have to stop looking for a karmic referee to correct us back into legislative harmony. White House policy is now “laws are for those who don’t have the cards.”
That’s what you engage with every time they do something “insane”.
It’ll be sooo insane when we don’t have midterms.
I’m at the point where whenever a headline is full-on Vichy I have to half-remember this is crazy but also half-remember that we can’t stay in that space if we’re going to figure how to break the New Terms of Violence.
Interesting NYT article on oil extraction potential in Venezuela. The graphic comparing various countries oil reserves certainly dispenses with any pretense of fentanyl or cocaine trafficking as a White House admin rationale for regime change & military intervention 💰

I tink it’s smart to have a bunch of Florida queens while the state becomes a flashpoint for drag’s right to exist. Launch the careers of more seasoned queens who know themselves and have the connections to galvanize their communities.
A strong Canada AND US season of Drag Race in the same year? I guess I’ll hang on a little while longer.

Replaced two tires the day before NYE, the car shut down coming back from a friend group trip, now stuck 250mi until at least Tuesday. Tonight we’re at the emergency vet because one of our cats was in “never acted like this before” pain

I’m fully checked out. Crisis mode in 😐bubble wrap😐

First introductions of Vance talking about repercussions for France and the UK for not being racist enough and then Macron caves like this weeks later.
Only Le Pen seems to understand what’s happening as a matter of principle, which every bone of mine feels insane for saying.

Democracy holds no sway. It can't stop pouring money into a CSAM generating machine owned by some rich guy. It can't fix bad water pipes. It can't stop bombing a country and kidnapping its leader. You are already living in the aftermath of the system's death

‘Unrest’ is leaving! If you’d like a gorgeous and quiet film about western civilization at the crossroads of its own alienation, have I got a slightly mystifying experience for you…
New month, new arrivals, but also, don't miss these films leaving the Criterion Channel at the end of the month.
