I code, I bike, and sometimes I get real crazy and do some 3D printing.
Someone get the man away from the Panda Express fortune cookies. They’re giving him ideas.
Good news, everyone! You get to do whatever you want! As long as you say you were trying to save the country, it’s all legal now.

Now look, this is on me for being lazy and buying frozen, but I don’t expect to be able to count the water chestnut slices in an “Asian vegetable medley”

Kagi’s Orion browser successfully blocks all ads, including YouTube ads, both on desktop and mobile.

It also blocks first-party and third-party scripts and requests. That means that Orion always blocks all trackers by default 👇

Do you know why a president would do all the most evil and heinous shit via Executive Order? Because his party can't easily make it law. And if they can't make it law, they can't make it last.

Don't let anyone make you feel like this is The End. Do not let them demoralize you. Live to see them die.

Cool, cool, I have a close friend who’s in the hospital at this very moment. He’s on Medicaid because a severe accident left him unable to work. Man, I’m really feeling the “great again” part of this bullshit.
NEW: My staff has confirmed reports that Medicaid portals are down in all 50 states following last night's federal funding freeze. This is a blatant attempt to rip away health care from millions of Americans overnight and will get people killed.

I make lots of breakfast burritos in advance and freeze them. Dropped one this morning. Those suckers can do some damage.

About links, bluesky loves them. Please unlearn the link-in-reply tricks you've been doing elsewhere and proudly share your blog posts, videos, or any other external link in your top posts so we can all go and visit your fancy websites and then get back here to discuss and repost them. Thanks!

Not only is X throttling external links, but it is also messing with its public pages. Without an account, you don't see the conversation if you go to a post. Instead, you get ads to sign up. If you visit profiles, the latest posts are not there. Useless for microblogging. Harmful to the open web.

If nothing else, ignore the national stage and focus on your local communities. There are going to be negative consequences (economic, medical, etc) hitting many of our of neighbors soon enough. Small actions still affect lives.
The only thing more dangerous than a vengeful president is an opposition that’s too despondent to fight back.

“There won’t be an election in 4 years.”

Oh really? Please. You don’t know what will happen tomorrow.

self-taught developers have advantages of our own:

- you didn't get into coding _by accident_ - embrace your drive
- use other skills in your coding - e.g. your problem solving or creativity or verbal talent

plus:

- play with code!
- ask 'why' a lot
- try to help others out

Work is branching out into privacy-first network monitoring software for the consumer market, and Google Ads has been a nightmare. Our website keeps getting arbitrarily flagged as "compromised". Granted, web dev isn't our main focus...but we're talking a static Nuxt site on Netlify. Just wild.

Weird how much "Desert" by Brand New has been stuck in my head recently.
It’s out in the open and they admit it now.

Haven't had a chance to mountain bike in...too long. But tires are still holding air, so that's a success! Just ignore the gravel bike over there that smells vaguely of sealant.

This whole "was it or was it not a salute" thing is a distraction because it inevitably devolves into an argument over intent. An endless free-for-all with an unprovable answer.

I focus on actions. You can build people up, tear people down, or do nothing. I respect those who do the first.

You know, it's really difficult to do post processing on a 3D print when you forgot to actually start the print.
