Oregon is 3rd in SNAP recipients, but 21st below poverty level and 26th for children below poverty level. So why 3rd? We prioritized addressing food insecurity 20 years ago.

My office is reaching out to the White House and Homeland Security for more information. We have been provided no information on the reason or purpose of any military mission. There is no national security threat in Portland. Our communities are safe and calm.

You know what motivates me? Not just advocating for people and communities, but truly connecting to people’s humanity. Everything else is so tiring. But to truly connect? Means everything.
