🆕 How does age of death vary across England and Wales?

There is wide variation at local authority level in the proportion of people who die aged under 75 – from 50% in Tower Hamlets, to only 22% in Dorset.

The number of patients entering clinical trials in the UK fell by 27% from 2018 to 2023 and new industry trials declined 38%.

Funders expect evidence of 'promise' (the intervention is likely to work) when considering whether to fund an RCT, pilot, or feasibility study. But there is no shared understanding of how we should do this. We have been funded by @nihr.bsky.social to develop guidance to help.
