70 pages into a plot edit on the Romantasy script because I made two HUGE changes right at the beginning. It’s so much better now, though.

Then I can go back and do a line edit.

Then a character pass.

Then a remove the widow pass.

So much done, so much more to go. 💪🏻

The clues are there in the Stranger Things finale.

You know how it’s going to end.

So I wasn’t surprised and not nearly as angry as I expected to be.

They did a good job.

Now - let’s do some more shows set in the best decade ever!

The 80s. 💪🏻😂

I have a whole finished feature script to edit. What am I doing, instead? Outlining a new one. 😩😂

Because my brain will NOT shut up and I can’t concentrate on anything else. 😂😩

Day 6 /12 off from the day job.

Party at the Rose Bowl this evening will get me out of the house. 🎉

If Stranger Things ends like The Umbrella Academy, I’m gonna be pissed I wasted my time.

RESIST the urge, writers! 😂😩

Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

Ob-viously.

Yee-haw! Crowdfunding for SHECKY post-production hits 70%!

Still plenty of time for any & all supporters of indie filmmaking, terrible jokes, and the screenwriting community to join in!

Brain wouldn’t let me write until I finished the new drop of Stranger Things. 😩😂

I was mostly entertained.

It’s still raining here in So.Cal. It’s been four days….

I miss the sun.☀️ 😩

But “music has a way of finding you, even in the darkest places.” 💪🏻

It’s only day 1 of 4 and we’re already getting flash flood emergency weather alert texts.

😩

I rescued my trash bins (today is trash pickup day) from floating away, tho!

Breakfast done. Cats fed. Last gifts wrapped. Food ready for party tomorrow.🎉

Cable keeps going out as the Pineapple Express deluges Los Angeles with sideways rain.😔

The elitist cat is HOWLING because there is no sun so she refuses to sit (where she bakes herself every day) in her window bed. 😩

No, not all camera directions in a spec script are bad.

If they're enhancing the story, great, but usually, it's a case of a noob writer believing that they need to include these things when, realistically, the director is responsible for adding these elements during pre-production. #scriptsky

Oregon… you can kindly take your weather back.

The wind is gusting like mad and the rain is coming down sideways.

Kthanks.

🎉Shopping is done. 🎉

🥳Day job is closed until Jan 5th. 🥳

Am at pg 72/96 of a feature edit I’m determined to finish tomorrow.

The four day atmospheric storm has arrived so batten down the hatches, LA. And stay safe out on the roads!

Writing goals will be exceeded for the year. 💪🏻

👇🏻 Don’t be predictable…👇🏻
A script is well-structured, it flows well, the story math checks out, and yet... readers aren’t responding to it. There’s a good chance they’re getting ahead of the story, ‘cuz it’s too predictable. Here’s a quick #Scriptsky #Screenwriting thread on ANTICIPATION and SUBVERTING EXPECTATIONS.

Rian Johnson talking about the first step/foundational piece of building out ANY story is answering these questions:

"Who is the Protagonist? What do they want? Why can't they get it? Why do we care?"

Anyone else have the end scene to your script before you even have the whole story figured out?

Yeah. That’s me and my new WIP. 😂😩

But I do have a title and a logline. 💪🏻😂

👇🏻Lesson here, writers. 👇🏻
I saw this on twitter and it reminded me of one of my rejected SUPERMAN & LOIS pitches: that time would happen in reverse on Bizarro World.

The pitch was that somehow we gonna discover uniting the pendants would destroy one reality…. And then that would happen. Bizarro World is seemingly destroyed

Where are people getting their scripts now that the script lab is closed?

I’m looking for Di Vinci code, if anyone has it.

If you get emailed any Amazon gift cards, reach out to the person who sent it to you FIRST to make sure they’ve sent it.

Scam going around. It’s been one letter off on the familiar person’s name sending you the link. I got one today. Thankfully, I didn’t click on it.

Romantasy feature first draft is DONE!

Blew past my goal of 10 pages this weekend and finished in 20.

Will set it aside and start the edit in a few weeks.

Now I can polish my if-the-Beekeeper-lived-in-The-Handmaid’s-Tale-during-Civil-War feature so I can start pitching it in 2026. 💪🏻

Innocent little me. Scrolling through IG this morning…

… now I have an idea for a comedy series. SERIES! 😂

I don’t write tv. Or comedy! ME? Comedic?! 😂😭😩😂

But what a reminder that ideas can come from ANYWHERE. Anywhere!

Romantasy feature currently at pg 83…
