In a letter to Gov Polis, the Colorado County Clerks Association requested a meeting before Polis decides on Peters’ fate and wrote: “Send a message… that this state does not abandon those who do what is right. Courage, integrity, and the law still mean something here.”

NEW: Colorado’s county election clerks (majority Republican) implore Gov Polis (D) not to release Tina Peters to the Trump administration. Their joint letter says it would be a slap in the face to clerks who endure threats due to Peters’ election rigging conspiracy theories.

There was a time when a finding like this from a judge would be fatal to a federal agent's career.
Judge Ellis derides Greg Bovino as a serial fabulist who brazenly lied on the stand and seemingly considered it funny to perjure himself. cst.brightspotcdn.com/49/34/daecfb...

So much detail I didn't have space to include in this piece, much of it from the lawsuit against Patel. One example: Driscoll was interviewed by Paul Ingrassia, who has a self-professed "Nazi streak." Ingrassia recommended Driscoll not be given a top job b/c he refused to express loyalty to Trump.

There's going to be a reckoning when this is all over and I hope there's a special committee to solely investigate the people running these social media accounts.
this defies parody. also helps explain why Sec Bessent bizarrely blamed immigrants when confronted with a question about high beef prices

I'm guessing Pam Bondi somehow didn't know about this.

when I was young, i used to wonder how people like this would fare in life, as they didn't seem suited for gainful employment. it turns out, the internet allowed them to accumulate a massive audience of similar idiots, enriching them and turning them into a presidential advisor

The facts are complicated, but here’s a summary of what appears to have happened based on the filings and today’s hearing:
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

I hope Zelensky' replies "Nuts!"
New: I can confirm hasty US-Russia proposal being pushed to Ukrainians via Dmitriev-Witkoff to Umerov. It would amount to Ukraine’s capitulation, with people familiar saying it’s Kremlin’s maximalist demands.
-Ukraine army cut 1/2
-Give up certain weapons
-Give up Donbas
-Zelensky displeased

Ah, still bad, but not charges the GJ never saw in the first place.
Foreman told GJ coordinator that GJ rejected count 1 but approved counts 2 & 3 of 1st indictment. So govt drafted 2-count indictment which foreman signed. But 2-count indictment—the operational one—was never shown to full GJ.

I didn't think this was possible.

If Halligan and Bondi were both disbarred in the next hour, it wouldn't surprise me.

Worth remembering today that two citizens of Saudi Arabia remain wanted for the murder of a North Carolina man. They are among dozens who have fled justice in the U.S., often with the help of the Saudi government.

The sudden about-face by Trump and the Republicans on the Epstein documents really makes me wonder after they spent so much time and effort suppressing their release.

If the plan is to not release them because "We tried, but on-going investigation," only the most committed are going to buy that.

Now imagine he said this to your daughter.

We’ve talked about how we in the media normalize (even incentivize) aberrant behavior by public figures who make it their brand.

But just imagine if an official in your city or town had told a female reporter asking about a sex abuse scandal, “Quiet, piggy.” Headlines for days.
