I’m in a group chat about local politics and most people are left/liberal except for this one zoomer who is doing his absolute best to conceal that he’s incredibly bitter about Ciattarelli losing. New levels of “please don’t put in the papers that I’m mad” dril copypasta

I am kind of sitting here mouth agape as I realize that the thing that really got eight Democrats to cave was a provision which provides backdoor criminal and civil immunity to them personally by making it functionally impossible to ever investigate the Senate
read the actual bill text and this is quite literally a provision designed solely to impede civil and criminal investigations into United States Senators and their staff. www.appropriations.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

I just think it has to be humiliating for the entire community that the first Latina in the Senate is just a proxy vote for Chuck Schumer.

With Kaohly Her defeating DFL darling Melvin Carter in the second count of Minnesota’s ranked choice system, St. Paul becomes the next city earning a star on the map with its first woman mayor.

The leaderboard of past and currently elected AAPI mayors of majorish cities has been updated :)

I may have to update it for St. Paul sometime soon.

If you didn’t get enough a sex pest former governor going through a humiliation mayoral race, look no further than across the river where Jim McGreevey is biting the dust.

The race will go to a runoff, but Solomon is heavily favored.

So many NJ marriages, including Louise and Marsha’s, became possible when NJ legalized gay marriage in 2013. Jack Ciattarelli didn’t support it then, and his top advisor now wants to roll it back. We can trust @mikiesherrill.bsky.social to protect marriage equality.
