“Our country is divided” is only part of the truth. “…by ethics” is the missing part.

Not politics, opinions, or news source fundamentally, because there are people who are calling evil good and good evil, and the solution to that problem is most definitely not to reduce division.

We’ve often heard of dopamine being talked about in the context of smartphones – namely, that smartphone usage stimulates dopamine release and therefore can result in addictive behaviors. But what about churches?

It’s an understatement to say that Christians have a bad reputation when it comes to mental health.

While many have heard from other Christians that mental health struggles are signs of unrepentant sin, a lack of faith, or the work of demons, others have simply never heard mental health and the

Actually, no, I'm not interested in watching your Youtube video, reel, or TikTok from a random person online who claims to have the "real facts" when they are just parroting DHS and ICE's talking points.
I'm also not interested in your gnostic secret "true knowledge" of what's happening that

I am frankly not interested in trying to convince people that inhumanity is wrong and that compassion is right.

I am not interested in trying to persuade people who don’t want to believe lived experiences of immigrants and those who advocate for them.

Churches and Christians will be talking and posting about MLK’s dream of a nation where people “will not be judged by the color of their skin,” and then support ICE agents who are doing exactly that.
January 20, 2026 at 4:05 AM
When church leaders are more visibly upset about protesters disrupting a church service than a pastor of that church *serving with ICE and defending ICE’s actions,* then there is something deeply wrong.
If the church leaders are also not willing to call out the fact that the feds are decrying

You cannot support ICE while taking seriously the ethics of Jesus. You can call yourself a Christian, go to church, and claim to know all the right theological answers, but if you are supporting such blatant acts of evil and disregarding on the ground requirements of Christ’s righteousness, then

Update: another very generous person has helped me get to 45% funded!
Out of my comfort zone here, so bear with me! 🙏

A very generous person gave toward a fund to get me 33% funded to attend the Restore 2026 Conference, and I wanted to see if anyone else would be able to get me to 100%.

No pressure at all to anyone, but if

Today ICE murdered an innocent and unarmed US citizen and then lied about it.

If you're in a church community that cannot clearly and without hesitation call this a murder, then you need to find a new one. A "church community" that is desensitized to evil and believes in convenient lies

With the recent news about Yancey’s eight year affair, a lot of people are reeling. With more and more stories of Christian leaders committing disqualifying sins coming to light, many wonder if there is any leader in the church who actually believes and acts according to the things they teach.

What a wild ride. Two independently-owned Hilton hotels in Minneapolis cancelled the reservations of ICE agents. Hilton then made a statement that the cancellations were not according to Hilton policy regarding anti-discrimination, but that the independently-owned hotels were the ones who should

In Evangelicalism, the gospel is often seen within a paradigm of escaping from divine judgment. But what if Scripture provides a better paradigm?

What might it look like to see the broader story of Scripture as a narrative of divine partnership

Here's the thing...

I believe there are very good reasons to say that Jesus was a refugee.

But even if He had never had the refugee experience in any way...

Jesus still has a special eye for the refugee.

Jesus didn't have to *be* a refugee to *love* the refugee.

To likely no one’s surprise, the Department of Justice released a limited and heavily redacted set of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

And the church has its own "Epstein files."

ICE is here in Columbus, so this is especially necessary to share.

Here are ways for you as a Christian and your church as a body can help fight back against ICE:

1. Donate to organizations with a legal assistance fund (or create one for your church). These funds are used to help immigrants with

On a bit of a writing spree. This time I wrote about the four-fold framework of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration and applied this framework to the topics of gender roles, sexuality, singleness, marriage, and marijuana.

Did you know that the Old Testament has different terms for "foreigner" and "immigrant," and more often than not, God requires a special care for the "immigrant" because they are vulnerable and categorized with the orphan, poor, and widow?

What Trump said about the Somali community is evil. Anyone who confesses Jesus and agrees with Trump's words is partaking in evil.

Columbus, Ohio has the second largest Somali community in the U.S., and many of them are literally in my neighborhood or several blocks away.

You’ve likely heard it or read it somewhere. This commonly held idea remains in books, sermons, youth groups, and in families in Evangelical circles. And that is the idea that men have a higher sex drive than women.

The plethora of examples of civil disobedience in the Scriptures at the very least should make Christians of all times and places sensitive to a higher morality than what is simply “legal” or “accepted.” It should make them readily aware of the fact

I've had so many conversations with Christians who have expressed the fear they have in their church (or had in a former church) of speaking up about the Christian calling of justice and care for the oppressed and abused. The fear could look like direct hostility by other members or discipline
