Why on earth would you fire a gun multiple times at a moving car? This is not Law and Order or NCIS, for crying out loud. These are real, scared humans.
Martin Rascon, a U.S. citizen, shares his harrowing, lawless encounter with ICE: “It felt like we were going to be attacked for no apparent reason.”

ICE is terrorizing our neighbors and communities. It’s long past time for accountability and meaningful reforms.

This movie left me speechless. I hope it wins all the awards. Bravo to these opticians for their contribution.

From the start, it has appeared these are grown men playing a 5-yr old game of cops and robbers. The masks are the outgrowth of shame. Shame over past or potential acts of violence against those they deem less-than. They should listen to their own hearts.

Follow the money. It's all that matters to folks like Trump.
4 months after Trump pardoned Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, Forbes reports that Binance now holds $4.7 billion of the $5.4 billion supply of Trump’s World Liberty Financial stablecoin. That is 87%. It is the largest corruption scandal in the history of the US presidency.

Inviting either of the Clintons, let alone BOTH the Clintons, to testify is an invitation to get your head handed to you on a platter.

We do! We're up to 62 degrees today. Then back to normal temps in the 40's tomorrow. Seems like Spring is trying to spring!

“We were neither protesting nor resisting. This was an embodiment of possibility and openness — that people can gather for peace, joy, and hope to build a different sort of community, a better world.”

Beautiful!

what we're cutting:
health care
food stamps
preschool
environmental protections
international aid
scientific research

what we're buying:
Purchasing and converting these warehouse detention camps will cost the U.S. government billions of dollars. So far ICE has purchased at least half a dozen warehouses at a cost of $70-$110 million each. It'll cost billions more to refit them into detention camps, and hire staff.

Many failures on many levels.
During freezing temperatures in Port Arthur, Texas, a 61-year-old homeless man was found dead in his wheelchair outside a convenience store.

He was wearing a hospital gown and no shoes. Authorities say he had been released from a hospital the previous day.

This is a diseased society.

Another question is, did the hospital release him like that w/no clothing and at least a pair of socks? I'm a hospital chaplain and deal with these kinds of cases regularly. Most hospitals can provide clothes. Where was social work/case management? Big, big questions here. . .

I noticed a Brown Thrasher mimicking the other day and was mesmerized. Didn't know they did that. What would we do without birds, truly?
February 9, 2026 at 4:40 PM
Oh, wonderful! Couldn't tell what kind of bird it was. I love Mockingbirds, too. And you describe them perfectly - brash and beautiful. The way they imitate other songbirds never ceases to amaze.
