👋 Hi! I’ve been making indie apps for iOS and Mac since 2009, focusing on graphics and creative software.

I mainly post work-in-progress and photos of my beagle, Miss Muddypenny.

it would be great if after a character died, your game made a .txt file which is just generated ascii art of their bones.

The Waterlogue 2 release is delayed because I'm converting it to freemium. All current users will get the base upgrade for free, with an IAP for new styles and future features. Freemium users will get a few styles, with watermarks on the locked features.

Went to Windup Watch Fair yesterday. The line to get in circled an entire NYC midtown block.

Most amazing sight: I saw someone steal a watch from a vendor's table.

First time dealing with any kind of car repair—someone backed up and poked a hole in my bumper. Cost to repair? Over $3k (bumper replacement, painting, sensors, etc.) not including seven days in the shop and car rental costs.

100% their fault, so no cost to me, not even deductible, but still…wow.

I normally do this type of visualization with 3d rendering, but Illustrator is pretty capable too. This watch case back is just three layers, with gradients and inner shadow effects on the notches.

Free macOS app idea: Hit a hotkey and a search box appears that lets you find any text on the screen, including toolbar and interface buttons. Behind the scenes, the screen is captured and OCR'ed.

If your privacy policy is a 20-page booklet, you don't need to read it to know it's not going to be good.

Wow—I did the "email the CEO" thing that people do when customers have problems, and it worked. A bank CEO, no less. I received a callback an hour later from someone who was able to handle my issues.

AI summarized text on iOS should be in its own font. (Not like crayon, but maybe something computer-y.)

I've been trying to model complex geometry like this for a while, with booleans, chamfering, surface continuity, etc., but Cinema 4D isn't a CSG (solids CAD) program and the polygon operations always make a mess.
