@timsargeant.bsky.social show a high-protein meal does not alter autophagic flux in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells within 1 hour—challenging the notion that fasting activates autophagy.

Check out our new paper! We tested whether a high protein milkshake would suppress #autophagy measured in human blood after 1 hour. Surprisingly we got a negative result, despite clear metabolic responses. @sahmri.bsky.social @jci-insight.bsky.social
