Felicitations! I can’t wait to read up on the analysis workflow

Looked this up to respond to someone about a thing, decided to burden you all with it.

It’s when the golf ball comes back down that secretary birds become my new favorite bird.

Legit surprised to find out that they also can fly! They shot up on my list of favorite birds after I saw this:

The main thing that surprised me so far is how long it took to start working with Veritas-like polemicists to create a feedback loop of fake ‘sting’ hysteria vids and really awful knee-jerk policy decisions.

Have a friend who's joining bluesky after deleting his Twitter account. Is there a good starter pack for reporters/breaking news that any of you know of?

That, sadly, being the goal of the entire operation

This is just to say

I have noticed
An exception
To the rule
That you made

And which
You were probably
Getting fond of

Forgive me
It was unexpected
So odd
And I was curious
It's the first in an academia horror trilogy

I Have Made: an Observation That Contradicts the Original
I Have Made: a Replication Crisis

Someone had to say it. Are the grasshoppers out? It blew my mind, last time I visited, how dense they could get on the ground.

And Bayard Rustin should have a statue
January 10, 2026 at 7:51 PM
Some on the ground clearly know, most don’t. We teach civil rights pike we teach WWII, as if it was all battles and not the incredibly important logistics that happened in the background.
January 10, 2026 at 7:50 PM
Not that anyone particularly needs my advice, but now would be a good time to review the invisible parts of civil rights era organizing: the workshopping, operational planning, discipline that went into everything they did. People didn’t just spontaneously show up at the Pettis bridge.

Is that a discharge? He’s walking around with a rifle, loaded, ready to firs, with the safety off?

Uhhh yeah apparently I had a very different initial reaction than the OP. Get this guy talking about what he thinks marriage is. People will learn some things.

It’s Bannon. The right verb could get you thrown out of a port side dive bar. And that’s my own answer to the question up top. What kind of person really wants to be the local John Galt with his hands on the community’s air supply.
January 10, 2026 at 12:18 AM
Didn’t Steve Bannon help run one of the Biosphere projects? There’s more I could say, but that’s on the nose like zinc oxide at a beach volleyball game in 1985.

You could have your own isolated homestead in the Atacama desert and I guarantee anyone walking by would 100% leave you alone. If you can make it there, with spare parts and supplies coming ~every 2 years and a 30-month lead on emergency requests, you’re ready for Mars! Well kind of. 10% ready.

Actin is a classic resolution tester. The detail in branching structures is almost fractal, so it tests everything from WF to STED. Lots of great stains.

Literally exactly what everyone expected from the gotta hoard guns to resist tyranny crowd. Most are nothing more than a boot looking for a face.

Looking for someone who studies vaccine hesitancy for a story in Nature. Short turnaround, so need someone today or Monday. If that's you, drop me a line!

They probably do, but he didn’t open with ‘bonjour’ so they pretended not to hear him
