Just fyi, I am mostly silent now because I’m job hunting and need a job for medications for my wife which I can’t get with opinions. I absolutely have opinions but the U.S. healthcare system would mean my wife may die without healthcare supplied by an employer. US passive pressure is fun.

Once again we’re following the southern U.S. tradition for the new years quick meal of black eyed peas (for luck), greens (for wealth), garlic (to stop vampires), and bacon on (for more bacon). Hoping this year it serves us well (I mean it’s really tasty so that’s a start).

This has been an unpleasant week and today is officially my last day of work (company restructuring is such fun). My cat celebrated by throwing up under my desk right where my feet go which is delightful! There is no point searching for work before Xmas as no one is hiring so I’m chilling for now.

FYI, I’ve just been laid off (nothing I did, company restructuring is fun) so I’m not in the best headspace right now. Things are not dire but I have some mild panic working through my everything.
Ive been through this before and I can fall back on freelancing but it’s not fun and I’m older now.

Finally got around to watching Mickey 17 (it’s been on my list for a while). Fantastically insane movie and I loved it to death. Totally weird but believable premise and great pacing. Also Mark Ruffalo and Toni Collette were so fantastically and hilariously out of their comfort zones. 9/10!

We are not turkeying for thanksgiving because honestly it’s not great (the turkey and event). Instead I’ve thrown a brisket in the instant pot with pickling spices to make a tasty tasty corned beef and cabbage for which we will be exceedingly thankful for when it’s done in several hours.
