Washington is shopping for a new youth jail as headlines and public outrage cast a dark shadow over Department of Children, Youth, & Families facilities. 💸

The move sends the legislation to the Senate, where pressure is growing to make the Justice Department release more documents.

Analysis: The Post found that documents recounting President Ronald Reagan’s relations with the Soviet Union in the early 1980s, one of the most dangerous periods of the Cold War, have been removed.

The State Department had deleted history.

Progressives like Katie Wilson beat Big Business-backed competition from coast to coast as the Left takes a hard look in the mirror. 🌊🗳️

Soon-to-be former Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell seemed to reassure his allies it'll be business as usual. Maybe. 🫏

The problem with punditry in this age is you can back peddle multiple times on a host of positions and the algorithms will just show ppl just a handful of clips and screenshots of the bits they’ll like.

The sound bite era means no one really reads/listens to things in their entirety anymore.

If you ever worry about your life being boring, reading 1918 diaries will remind you how time comes full circle.

Entries read like: Cold today. Saw a cow. Sent away for a Sear’s catalogue. It got lost. Saving money for an egg or four. Did a dance in my room. Went to bed.

We know this much: Harrell was (almost?) shown up by a rookie who campaigned like a pro. And a Katie Wilson victory is still in the cards.

Here in Olympia, voters had a ballot measure in front of them giving minimum wage workers a $3+ pay raise (among other provisions). It’s on track to fail by a double digit margin.

The real kicker? Up to a third of Olympians voted at all when everything is said and done. Not voting costs you.

Nail biter elections are something of the norm in Seattle.

Flash back to ‘23: Former Seattle City Council member Tammy Morales won her race against Tanya Woo by a mere 403 votes. Morales spent days and days in a distant 2nd.

Ergo, a Katie Wilson win is still more than possible on paper.
