Our fair state welcomed a new Supreme this morning. WA Gov. Bob Ferguson appointed Colleen Melody to the high court this week in light of justice Mary Yu’s retirement.
She helped block Trump’s 2017 Muslim travel ban as the leader of then-state Attorney General Ferguson’s Civil Rights Division.

Our fair state welcomed a new Supreme this morning. WA Gov. Bob Ferguson appointed Colleen Melody to the high court this week in light of justice Mary Yu’s retirement.
She helped block Trump’s 2017 Muslim travel ban as the leader of then-state Attorney General Ferguson’s Civil Rights Division.

Breaking news: Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. issued a brief pause on a lower court order blocking a new congressional map in Texas that would give Republicans an edge in winning five additional House seats.
Supreme Court justice pauses order blocking Texas map favoring GOP
The order will give the high court time to consider an appeal by Texas, which is seeking to overturn the ruling by a panel of federal judges.
