This is FASCINATING. Resident Evil itself is functionally an Alone In The Dark successor- that game sorta set the template for the entire genre, even if it's lesser remembered for a bunch of odd reasons.
This is, functionally, a Resident Evil demake back to the style of Alone In The Dark.

Our first big Christmas update is with an amazing recovery of the final build of Resident Evil on Gameboy Color. Hotgen's impressive conversion that got canned. This is much closer to completion, and seems completable too. Lots to discover!

Playing Contract JACK these days. A quite loud and uneven game but you can tell the legacy of the studio going through the level design... reminds me of FEAR but without the bullet time, and the theme is a worse fit for the action/exposition rhythm
