Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

I attended a meeting yesterday and it reminded me that every single organizer needs to get training on how to facilitate meetings. Truly. You lose more people through terrible meeting facilitation than I can express.

They all lead to bad habits of the mind because simplifying your thoughts down into little bumper stickers and then having other people [...] retweet them or mob you [...] doesn't lend itself to [...] pluralistic, balancing modes of thought" — Ezra Klein

Saw '28 Years Later' and did not anticipate a visual diegesis on British nationalism, its transformation into pure simulacrum, and the [post-apocalyptic] fading of collective cultural memory - but Danny Boyle delivered!

Mr. Antiwar President has us inches away from a Civil War at home and a nuclear war abroad in defense of an ally that is starting random hot regional wars to detract from its ongoing genocide. I’m sure all of this will just naturally cool off.

All while pretending it’s about ‘government experience’ rather than ideology. We have an entire intellectual elite that is allergic to clearly stating what they think and providing evidence.
I don't think I've ever felt more like burning it all down than I have while witnessing the elite project to turn Zohran Mamdani and Brad Lander into scary, incompetent monsters while turning an actual incompetent monster, Andrew Cuomo, into a merely complicated fellow who just made an oopsie.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

"Americans don't care that a billionaire installed a bunch of far-right psychos in office who then gutted healthcare."
When 15 million Americans lose their health care and plunge into personal crisis, none of them are going to give a shit about a made-for-clicks twitter fight between two billionaires arguing about who gets the bigger share of the corruption spoils.

To paraphrase the New York Times reporter who interviewed the “Doge Coin millionaire” - young people are making YOLO “slingshot” gambles via stocks, options, and crypto in the hope that they can secure the same sort of financial stability that was accessible to Boomers.
In the 80s a house was something like 3x the median income. Today a house is something like 6x median income. In 20 years a house will be like 10x median income. The public sees this. To them this means the system is failing. Of course they’re going to gamble/buy crypto/trade options. They need hope
