We'd like to come to you with an apology. This seal is actually Queen Anne of Denmark. Despite the figure looking like Elizabeth, if you closely around the edge of the seal you'll be able to see her name.

Our catalogue has now been updated and the archivist who made this mistake has been flogged.
This fantastic seal has popped up in our collection today! This is the Great Seal of Elizabeth I, who reigned from 1558 to 1603.
