This is my absolute favourite book. This article is happy yet sad so beware - we need to look after our environment much more
‘Her name was Mothball and she changed my life’: the true story behind Diary of a Wombat
Jackie French was used to the quirks of wild animal behaviour – and then she met a carrot-mad wombat with an appetite for destruction. A bestseller was born

Madame is rather foggy & fatigued. The perfect time to suddenly realise she has never ever questioned that the Scottish word - a word she grew up using - for a wee stream - a generally wet & not very flammable thing - is a burn 🔥

Time for a bit of a lie down.

Will have to admit that watching a sporty anime the day after Madame had a shower & then took 12 annoyingly MEcfs filled hours to find the energy to put on socks is A Choice.

(Not that she was sprinting much in the Before Times either but at least she was strolling slowly with socks on.)

Somehow we are watching an anime film about athletics. Can't comment on the sporty side but the animation & voice acting is rather good.

She is also fair tickled that the two manga she is currently trying to work through (foggy brain permitting) are Witch Hat Atelier & Chainsaw Man. Both from top tier mangaka but from very different parts of the forest!

Madame has a confession to make. Was not as taken by Jane Doe or Iris Out as she was by Kenshi Yonezu's other Chainsaw Man anime related song, Kickback. Except now she is catching up with the manga & OH! Especially Jane Doe 👍 We're going to need to see the film after all.

Medieval times are unfairly stereotyped as brutal & dark *nods*

Medieval chronicler humming in the background "so they took this child out into the forest & horribly murdered it & when his evil sister read about it, her eyes fell out & SO MUCH BLOOD!"

Recently finished "Tokyo Express" by Seichō Matsumoto. Plot includes chronically ill bed based person who travels Japan in their imagination via train timetables. Madame was impressed but glad she can join in virtual travels thanks to lovely cyclists & walkers sharing the view on livestreams.

We are catching up on Dime Store Adventures & Madame, who is old but not THAT OLD, remembers a netting cover on Uncle Grumpy's pram & being told it was to stop cats from sitting on the baby. No mention of breath stealing though.

Apparently it is Winnie The Pooh Day. Although we do differ on some key subjects - his dislike of long words & love of *shudders at the sticky fur of it all* hunny - he has done a fair bit to further the public profile of small bears. So YAY!

A couple of favourites from first quick look at The Art of Witch Hat Atelier. Very hard to choose though. Kamome Shirahama is so incredibly talented.

Jan. 16, 1926: BBC listeners across Britain are startled to hear reports of a Communist revolution sweeping London. A deadpan announcer relates how mobs of unemployed men led by radical agitators are tearing down Big Ben, blowing up buildings and looting the National Gallery. 1/5

Preparing serious scientific experiment. What is more likely to clear a headache - is it a couple of Anadin Extra & plenty of water & a nap or a small bear dancing to Creepy Nuts' excellent song "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born"? Unfortunately test subject has no trust in process 😠

Got a visitor to Bear's Bed today. His tag says his name is Evil Momo but he seems like a decent chap. I am positive he won't try to eat me & steal my pillows. Or steal me & eat my pillows. Absolutely positive 👍

Oh dear. Just seen some chat about the new Buffy & it being described as not a reboot or a sequel but an evolution. Which sounds a bit like arguing the Atlantic Ocean isn't wet but is actually rather moist while announcing a recreation of the Titanic.
