Self ID for trans folks is fine. Trans panic by centrist Dems just accedes to right wing moral panic. And obv if anyone is using self ID laws to be a creep (which, again, doesn't happen despite alleged instances) there's already rules and laws against it
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Nostalgia about neighbourhood retail is not a strategy — the City's heavily compromised decision on neighbourhood retail may result in no new neighbourhood retail, writes senior editor @johnlorinc.bsky.social.

Nostalgia about neighbourhood retail is not a strategy - Spacing Toronto
I have lived for many years less than 30 metres from what was once one of Toronto’s storied corner stores — a green grocer known locally as “Dom’s” — for the owner, Domenico Cozzi. He and his wife Ros...

Yes, even in “"'liberal'"” New York, prisoners can legally be paid as little as a dime an hour. Less than a dollar for eight hours of work.

There is a reason that people who want to abolish prisons are called abolitionists. Prisons are modern-day slavery.

Better things are possible!
I just went by the new traffic circle with splitter islands and *raised crosswalks* at Woolsey and Eton in Berkeley.

Wow! Let's get more of these, please!

If it fits, I sits.

The only vehicles legally allowed to park/idle/drive in bikelanes are emergency vehicles.

Not delivery vehicles.
Not private construction vehicles.
Not people moving with a Uhaul.

Blocking a bikelane endangers the lives of everyone who relies on the bikeway.

Don’t do it.

It continues to boggle my mind that Gorsuch is such a fierce defender of Indigenous sovereignty but absolutely caves to his colleagues to dismantle protections for Black and Brown folks
Justice Gorsuch argues that the Supreme Court should overturn precedent that gives Congress near-absolute power over the internal affairs of tribes. Only Justice Thomas—who typically disagrees with Gorsuch on these issues—joins him. www.supremecourt.gov/orders/court...

As I explained when Davis' lawyers filed this petition, there was virtually no chance that the Supreme Court would seriously consider her case. I doubt there are five votes to overturn Obergefell—but if there were, this case does not present a clean vehicle for doing so. slate.com/news-and-pol...

That said, we must stay vigilant bc there will be other, stronger, challenges to Obergefell

With Cornyn MIA & still not voting, votes can still be changed. An effective leader would be burning up phone lines trying to flip one of the Dems who voted yes to kill this deal.

So, what’s Schumer doing right now?

If you're live in Virginia rn for the love of God please call Tim Kaine's DC office rn!! (Vote is still open technically)
EIGHT Senate Democrats have voted to advance the funding measure so far after the deal was reached:

Cortez Masto
Durbin
Fetterman
Hassan
Kaine
King
Rosen
Shaheen

If the existing 52 Republicans hold, that's 60 — enough to advance this agreement. Final vote still to come.
