To start out, I'm planning to have this account be a backup of my FFXIV tumblr sideblog. As on there, expect a lot of Fordola/Lyse fangirling (including gposes and fanfic when I'm up to it), as well as some fancy anime cosplay glams I do with my Lalafell main, Alice!

Goodness there's a lot more custom animations in the cutscenes lately. And very worthwhile ones too; that Miayli and Krile are able to touch and hug each other does so much to heighten the emotion of their scenes together!

The rizz argument is fascinating. I get what they mean by it, he's entertaining because there's no hope of fixing or reconciling with him, while Fordola is frustrating because you can /see/ where being raised by Gaius cooked her as bad if not worse than it cooked the Werlyt kids.

Was randomly skimming though Set with the Sun again, and I just realized my headcanon that Fordola would have a *very* strong reaction if you tried to give her headpats is more grounded in canon than I thought.

ohhh! so it was actually the same guy who left that boat in gyr abania!
this book had a "colorful cover" and simple wording so it's implied to be for children, but it reveals so much about how they think of themselves. like what stood out to me first was the geography, but we also have:

It’s probably never going to be mentioned but it’s interesting to think about in the context of Lyse’s life specifically. She was born in a town right down the mountain from the ark, and grew up mostly in Sharlayan - where children’s books lamented the unsalvageable warlike people nyunkrepf left.

Fordola feels like an anomaly in the writing of XIV. Antagonist woman whose antagonism isn't in any way tied to her being a woman. Has actual long-lasting friction on both a personal and broad level that doesn't get discarded the moment a main character wants to be friends. I miss Fordola.
