Anyway, wild red-string theorizing aside, I very much enjoyed all the Krile focus, even if it didn't move the plot forward a whole lot! She's one of my favorite Scions, I'm so glad she chose to stay with us. 💛
Krile smiling bittersweetly while Miayli says goodbye to her. "I know your home lies far from here, but to us, you'll always be family." are the words Miayli leaves her with.

It's interesting that the game keeps placing Krile in a role similar to the WoL. She's the only other major character with the Echo left, she's always had a connection to Hydaelyn, and now she's also heir to those entrusted with implied-Azem's Key. Is the last one meant to explain the first two?

It was also neat to see that my read on Krile that she has a lot of "what if my life had been different? would I have been happier if I'd been able to live with my parents?" angst that she keeps hidden under that smile was very correct. 🥺

I still think she ought to be a DPS/Healer in trusts though. We need more flex characters! What will we do once we inevitably leave Sphene behind?

I don't usually like dragging on base 7.0, but one thing this patch (and especially the roleplay duty!) really did do better was finally selling me on the arc of Krile feeling insecure about her combat abilities but now having come into her own as an equal to the other Scions.

Her dialog bubble says: "To take a leaf out of Y'shtola's book…" Next to her, a cowering civilian says " We can't haul enough water for this…" It's a cool moment that shows off how much more power Krile has to help people now!

Goodness there's a lot more custom animations in the cutscenes lately. And very worthwhile ones too; that Miayli and Krile are able to touch and hug each other does so much to heighten the emotion of their scenes together!

In theory, there’s still more I could do, though. Darker hair/eyes for example… but at that point, would she still read as Lyse to people running across my gposes out of context? Or does she now look like an OC?

As for why this specific look?

Honestly? It’s because when I first got my hands on NPC-altering mods, “hey what if I give Lyse her dad’s skin tone” was one of the first things I tried just to test the mod out.

We never get lines about Lyse’s appearance being unusual or her trying to navigate that distinction - again, instead we get plenty of lines to the contrary, that affirm that she’s meant to visually remind people of her father.

Lyse being challenged by a cynical youth (Wiscar) in Ala Gannha during the quest "A Life More Ordinary." The youth has a dialog box which says: "And you─don't you dare speak like you're one of us. You can't even begin to understand what we've been through. You weren't here, Lyse! You weren't here!" Lyse talking to the player during the quest "Above the Churning Waters," much later in the expansion. Her dialog box says: "I can be me...and that'll just have to be enough, eh?"

Another Stormblood screenshot, this one of Raubahn's flashback where he met Curtis, Lyse's father, in the quest "Liberty or Death." Curtis is depicted as a blond-haired and brown-skinned man with a scarred face and a determined expression. His dialog box says: "Liberty or death. Liberty or death! If this be your creed, then raise up your hands! Raise up your voices! Together we will tear Theodoric from the throne! Together we will reclaim our freedom!"

I often judge characters more by their written personality than their visuals (see also: the missing pants on Fordola’s Skulls uniform, which I may change too). And the game’s writing repeatedly underlines that Lyse is meant to look like an Ala Mhigan Highlander, shhh please ignore her actual model.

Adjusting to life in Ferndale is tough going at first, especially since the town's community center was destroyed in the Calamity. Luckily the local nature spirits seem to take a liking to him!
Aymeric frowns, lost in thought as he takes in the piles of broken furniture left in the community center. A cluster of curious moogles surround him, intrigued by this newcomer to the village.

In this universe, history goes a bit differently. Aymeric gets fed up with the cutthroat gossip and politics of the High Houses and moves out with his old kitty to his grandfather's farm…

(Presumably his maternal grandfather, that is. I've always assumed his mother was a commoner.)

My character (Alice) dressed as Chara from Undertale - specifically a more softhearted interpretation of them inspired by a lot of fan art I've seen. "Chara" is making a heart with their hands and smiling with a crown of golden flowers on their head. They are standing in the Elpis flower field at the end of Ultima Thule, and the [SAVE] button from the final True Pacifist battle against Asriel is edited on top of them. "Chara" from the end of the other route - the Genocide route. They smirk at the camera and slash with their dagger, filling the screen with red damage numbers in an otherwise blank void.
