One company having unspeakably bad abuse is a culture issue, two companies is alarming and three or more is systemic and we hit that point a decade ago. But I also wonder how this falls on just gamers and not the industry.
I don't want to diminish the abuses going on at Ubisoft, I just want people to remember Blizzard's employee abuses were so bad the SEC had to get involved. People were lining up for Diablo 4 anyway.
Ubisoft's victims deserve justice, but they won't get it from gamers.

You are completely right. For me, intention matters. This is why I think it's so important for folks to support and highlight devs who state an open opposition to it, and why I have 0 patience for all these new mealy-mouthed vague minimization statements that still try to leave the door to it open.

Folks I emphasize as always, if you don't actually show up for the things you want, they stop getting made. Sometimes you gotta be okay with taking a chance on that 7/10 game knowing it's the only way those creators get to keep making the stuff you wanna see

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is proof to me that AI will punch a hole clean through the entire art spectrum because as soon as it was used in something that made you feel something, 90% of so called critics went out of their way to go "well I think it's acceptable in this case"
