CHICAGO TEACHER: "This morning at 7:45, I marked a junior student absent—not because he was sick or overslept. ICE had snatched him up on his way to school. His main priority was getting his reading done for English class." (H/T @CTULocal1)

Do you really think a Department of Justice that lies to judges about grand jury indictments is going to be open and honest about the Epstein Files?

Having Johnson & Cummings in Downing Street when Covid struck was, just like Brexit, an entirely avoidable disaster caused largely by utterly appalling journalism. And now exactly the same clowns, arses & bigots with bylines are rolling out the red carpet for Farage.

The Covid Inquiry finds that if Boris Johnson had called the first lockdown even one week earlier then it could have saved at least 20,000 lives.

Here's a quick reminder of what Johnson was actually doing during those weeks

English councils plan to sell off social clubs and sports centres to balance books.

Social spaces lost forever. Libraries, community centres, school playgrounds, parks closed/sold as council funding cut in real terms to appease the rich.

Social vandalism.

I don’t want McSweeney sacked because of this briefing ‘war’. I want him sacked because he’s steered Labour down such an awful, xenophobic path and paved the way for Farage in number 10.

A thoroughly excellent expose of what actually goes on at the BBC, and the appalling rightwing shitbaggery of bad actors like Gibb and Grossman
The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

This is the most abysmal, pathetic thing. The BBC head resigning because the corporation is not supine *enough* to the far-right.

The resignations of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness must be an opportunity for the BBC to turn a new leaf, rebuild trust and resist those like Nigel Farage who want to destroy it

We must stand up for a strong, independent BBC, to stop Trump’s America becoming Farage's Britain.

A big win for people more outraged by a silly edit at the BBC than by a man impeached by Congress for literally inciting an insurrection being back in the White House. Pathetic.

My sense is that #inclusion is being misunderstood atm. It's not about expecting everyone to fit into a one size fits all system then adjusting when they don't. It's about creating an environment that includes everyone through making adjustments ahead of time. Start by thinking about the outliers. 🙏🏻

Grok is a case study in why AI, and social media, needs to be regulated.

Govts should have been clear on this from 2015, but for self-serving reasons they chose to ignore it.

Now we're in the middle of a bonfire, and they continue to fan the flames rather than stamp them out.
You can tell Grok is spewing right wing talking points the moment it starts talking about DEI mandates because they simply do not exist. Certainly they don't exist in the UK. It so fucking obvious. AI as it is now is such a load of shite I can't wait for it to disappear.
