Well, because the book is too damn long to be a movie.

Help settle an argument:

If I use IDENTICAL TEABAGS and put one in a large mug and one in a small cup and fill each with water, which cup has more "tea" in it?

Different amounts of WATER, sure, but I argue that the amount of "tea" (the leaves) is the same.

The title "Married with Mutants" over a shitty drawing on notebook paper of a three-eyed mutant. This is slug, the "child" of the titular married couple. And, since I have 1800 more characters: Did anyone notice the apocalypse? Seems the world ended a while ago and things just keep on going, but it’s not all horror and mutants all the time. Not like we see on TV. On TV it’s all fungus-headed killers and either slow zombies, fast zombies or mutant video game zombies ending civilization. But where is the humor? Can’t we laugh at the end of the world? Maybe make friends with the mutants? Astor and Terry didn’t ask to be roommates, but here we are. The wounded ex-wasteland warrior and the artist, not to mention Terry’s little mutant sidekick, Slug, are now roommates, if you can call three walls and a rotten plastic tarp a room. Throw in Zed, an undead neighbor, some cannibals and warlords and you have the perfect neighborhood to kick back and watch it all burn. We can even have a nice day out at the dump! I'm still contemplating the statist viewpoint of art, that it must have a clear and apparent meaning. That it must fall into a recognizable form. All ridiculous of course, but how would they view this shitty black and white ink line drawing?

a black line drawing on white background of an octopus. Not a very good drawing, which I can say since I drew it, but cartoony and the octopus is wearing a pearl necklace and has big hearts in its eyes. The tentacles are tangled up and if you look closely one of them doesn't really attach to the body of the octopus in a very believable fashion. Oh well. It was fun to draw. My partner and I are fascinated by cephalopods and it's a theme in our relationship, which is why I drew it. And, just as an aside, isn't it weird that we can type all this in the text description but our posts are only 54 characters or whatever? I mean, I'm just rambling here and only about a third of the way through my limit. I could go on about squids or squirrels or whatever. hmmm. Nothing to say tho. Enjoy your day!
