Hi, I’m an ND sci fi/fantasy writer working on my debut novel

I like to talk about books, games, history, and whatever’s interesting at the moment.

Also I’m learning Japanese, so これを読めばこんにちはを言ってくれませんか
Wrote a bit for the freelance assassin in my cyberpunk story

Has YouTube been forcing more and longer ads into everything? Because it feels like they have. Watching YouTube on my phone now is just suffering

So I finally started the new Pokémon game. The new battle system is fun, but I don’t love the structure of laddering in the tournament. It makes trainer battles feel like a grind instead of obstacles

I hope there are new mons/forms and not just new megas, but please mega flygon, exist

Lovely to get good news for once

So next on the reading list while I wait for the library to give me the next Discworld book is Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan.

My fantasy writing ideas tend to fall into settings with guns, so it seemed like a good idea to read.

First 2 chapters give me FF Tactics vibes

Finished the last ending of Silent Hill f. Lost in the fog difficulty was a mistake, but that was a really cool final boss tying together really strong character arcs for a really satisfying conclusion.

Definitely my game of the year. Ryukishi07 has done it again

So it’s been a bit since I finished The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, but this bit won’t leave my head

Only 2 endings left in Silent Hill f, and I think I saved the good ones for last. I think it’s safe to call this my game of the year at this point

I think an underrated bit of writing advice is museums are amazing for inspiration. Every time I go to one, I leave with new ideas I might get to eventually

The absolute insanity talking to older family where they’re all like “well I can retire without learning AI, but you need to learn it or you have no chance in the workplace”

As someone whose degree was in history, their lack of understanding of both basic research and the plagiarism machine… fuck

Having finished Final Fantasy Tactics in time, I do in a way get to play Silent Hill f as a Halloween game with 4 endings left to do in ng+

So I finished Final Fantasy Tactics… is it a hot take to say the Final Fantasy story kinda got in the way of the class struggle story? I liked the story, but the lucavi part didn’t do a lot for me

Ok Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green might be the most powerful book I’ve read this year

Finished Leviathan Falls. I never thought the Expanse was an amazing series, but this last book was terrible. The last three books really drag it down, and the final book is easily the worst in the series

Well… onto the next book on my list, Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green

Everyone should get to see themself in fiction. But I often can't find as much neurodiverse rep as I'd like, especially in SFF.

So for ADHD Awareness Month, I've gathered 22 mainly ADHD authors & their fantasy/ other books with main/significant ADHD chars in this bundle

Final Fantasy Tactics is really funny with how every so often it just drops in a little Karl Marx quote as a treat, which reminds me I still need to play Disco Elysium

Another thing that’s really funny about the later expanse books is how they introduced a villain named Duarte while the Philippines were under a dictator named Duterte is like if I wrote a story right now with a fascist dictator named Trund
