Went to see Pete Fij last night at the Albert. A couple of technical glitches it was very good and suitably fuzzy. Lots of new stuff and a couple of Adorable bits. There was a new song maybe about views from trains with some lovely imagery in the lyrics.

The first half of the first CD of this is taking me back to the mid-late 80s & being turned onto James by one of the cool kids that I worked alongside on the after school evening shift at Camberley Sainos

Up in the big smoke (drizzle) yesterday to see the Tortoise matinee show at the Barbican. They were very good and there was time for pint afterwards and still home before 7. I'm only going to afternoon shows in London from now on. None of that it's gonna take three hours last train home nonsense.

Hundred Acre.
Slugwash.
Plummerden.
Hammingden.
Chilling (Street).
Butterbox.
Streat.

Some favourite Sussex lanes looking mighty fine in the slanting autumn sunlight.

Stopped to have a look in All Saints Church in Highbrook which is a beauty, added to the 'zine list.

The ten Felt albums are available on Bandcamp.

For those following the saga of Lawrence messing with his back catalogue, "Ignite the seven cannons" is the remix while "The Pictorial Jackson Review" reverts to the original track listing of eight songs and two instrumentals.

Read this in an email. It’s as much about any physical media as it is about books.

The next issue of my In The April Sun zine is v. v. nearly done.

I think it's gonna run to 56 pages this time, and 51 pages are finished, bar a gargantuan proof-read.

As a teaser, here is one page of the six-page review of @glasgoespop.bsky.social

Two new zines back from the printers :-)

Vuelta a Los Picos - notes and photos from the time Jorge and I went and cycled around the Picos in northern Spain.

Edgeland - medium format photo zine with vintage map and some words I've written about the cliffs between here and Newhaven on the reverse.

Fantastic gog with Telecom & Search Results. Dapper sixties harmonies with hints of Byrds & Kinks, maybe a smidge of Sonic Boom with Telecom. Gloriously tuneful slightly off kilter post punk art rock from Search Results, so enjoyable that we bought the record on the way out. Top stuff.

Martin Stephenson & the Daintees 40th anniversary of debut album Boat to Bolivia. Equal amounts of stories & songs as to be expected. Lovely to hear the old songs with Gary Dunn on guitar again. First saw them in 1988 at Sadlers Well Theatre with The Lilac Time supporting.
