My 1st time on RISK! I told the story of finding out at age 46 that my dad was not my biological father.

2nd time, I told @thekevinallison.bsky.social about my 1st kiss & the high school mischief that led to police pointing shotguns at me.

This time?

I tell how I ended up in a Maureen Dowd book.

For most of my childhood, most of the west side of Cincinnati thought my dad was the model for this poster, a belief he very much encouraged.

Netflix is so wild to me. There’s a first rate production of August Wilson’s “The Piano Lesson” starring Samuel L. Jackson, Danielle Deadwyler and John David Washington and I only know about it because of a post on BlueSky.

Like, I’m watching it now while reading along and it’s BRILLIANT.

This is horrific, and is exactly the kind of violence that is a direct result of the cruel, brutal attacks by Nancy Mace, Trump and the GOP.

"We shouldn’t be surprised by people like Jared Polis complying in advance. But we should also be very clear: anyone who suggests that RFK Jr. running HHS is anything but a monumental, catastrophic disaster is a liar, a fool, or quite possibly both."
RFK Jr. is a massive public health threat
Dems like Jared Polis shouldn't pretend pretend otherwise.

At this point, democrats have to concentrate on stopping the ones that will do the most damage.

Forget the distraction nominees. Focus on the serious threats.

Gaetz, Gabbard and Hegseth remain the most problematic.

this gets to the point i keep making. to the media elites who are obsessed with anti-wokeness, something like mass deportation is a total abstraction whereas they are annoyed, on a daily basis, by their supposedly “woke” younger colleagues and social media antagonists
Top point from @stephenkb.bsky.social on the weighting voters give to "woke" v real issues.

What’s wild about nonfiction books, films, & podcasts that make the case that truth, justice & knowledge of facts are so important, is that we now live in a world where, quite officially and overtly, none of that applies even a little bit to those at the top.
