Going with the username I had back on the other place when it all began. Likely to be a fair few pictures of album covers and bits of cities. Feel like my mum when she discovered emojis.
Tickets for Pulp bought? Two. Number of times I wished eternal damnation on Ticketbastard? Still going. Absolute shower of shitehawks.

So far 2025 has been pretty shite but music is always there. New Richard Dawson arrived yesterday and it's damn near perfect. Nine vignettes that say more in a few verses than many books say in several hundred pages.

Really don't need British Gas sending me airfryer recipes as a way to be healthy and save energy. Would rather they just stopped rinsing me.

Kind of neglected this account again amid a whole lot of questions about the point of various social media platforms. Still not sure.

Infinite Jest update: gone beyond where I gave up last time and it's making a lot more sense. Still got a fair way to go though. Little white marker is the subsidised time years, metal / ribbon one where I actually am in the book and the last one is the footnotes.

"Hi, I'm Microsoft Word. I see you've just opened a document on your work account in the middle of the working day, so this is clearly a good time to ask for feedback."

Even Clippy wasn't that fucking irritating.

It's been an odd week and I'm glad it's nearing an end. It doesn't so much feel autumnal as just cold and shitey. Thankfully there are appear to be a shitload of new albums coming out tomorrow and the coming weeks to make it all better.

An album I didn't know but bought having heard it lauded by many and glad I did. Do love the cover.

Took this last week when arsing about with my camera. Posting now as having had a shite sleep it's kind of how my brain is making the world appear today.

I'm guessing Paul doesn't do much research on cities other than London and even then is speaking to a fairly narrow audience.

Right, I'm going back in on this big bastard. It beat me once before (I think I got about 300 pages in) but I figure if I can give up drinking for nearly three months I can finally read Infinite Jest.

A bit of a jump into the unknown with this one as hadn't heard of it but do love The Prisoner and enjoy a spy novel so it has to be worth a go.

"Rarely do you see a man with the stature that he has have such delicate feet" - just say "good touch for a big man" and fucking be done with it.

Finally watched Cocaine Bear and it's what the 16 year old that often operates my brain hoped it would be. A predator hooked on class As. What else does Friday night viewing need?

Spotted today in a little park near my flat. No idea why they're there, where they come from or who put them there. I hope they haven't gone by tomorrow.

Went to turn the microwave off at the wall, decided against it for now (though I appreciate that if I were in Australia the spider would be about the size of the microwave and about to kill me).

The book Bohren are currently providing the soundtrack to.

Cahokia Jazz by Francis Spufford.

Alternate history plus noir and bits of Ellroy. Hard not to like it.

This is slightly out of sync with a sunny afternoon as it makes me think of dark, smoke filled jazz bars at 2am, but it goes very well with the book I'm reading at the moment.

Waiting on a V Pillow. It will improve my weekend by at least two thirds. It will likely increase my time in bed by at least the same amount.

The sun is shining (though it's fairly chilly) and I'd like to get out but waiting on a delivery, so might as well stick some music on. Time to embrace the madness of The JAMS.

Bit of a palaver to get it delivered but worth the wait. Motorik rhythm and vocals that verge on incantations, excellent cover art and a warming shade of gold.

Another one from Sunday's haul (cover ding my fault). Saw an incarnation of The Arkestra a few years ago on the recommendation of a friend and it blew my mind.
