So far 2025 has been pretty shite but music is always there. New Richard Dawson arrived yesterday and it's damn near perfect. Nine vignettes that say more in a few verses than many books say in several hundred pages.

Infinite Jest update: gone beyond where I gave up last time and it's making a lot more sense. Still got a fair way to go though. Little white marker is the subsidised time years, metal / ribbon one where I actually am in the book and the last one is the footnotes.

I'm guessing Paul doesn't do much research on cities other than London and even then is speaking to a fairly narrow audience.

Right, I'm going back in on this big bastard. It beat me once before (I think I got about 300 pages in) but I figure if I can give up drinking for nearly three months I can finally read Infinite Jest.

Went to turn the microwave off at the wall, decided against it for now (though I appreciate that if I were in Australia the spider would be about the size of the microwave and about to kill me).
