I’m so bad at writing a description of myself. just ask me what my views are on medicine, science, art, bikes, funny things.
there’s hardly much that a good bike ride can’t overcome.

it’s impossible to explain to the well-off skilled workers (e.g., doctors, lawyers, etc) that the ultra rich think they are chumps for working. nice $500,000/yr salary, dipshit. you answer work calls in the middle of the night for asswipe money compared to what these freaks make.

People do this in healthcare and it always irritates me. “Look at that patient. They sit there with an iPhone but say they can’t afford their medications?” Buddy, you are mad at the wrong thing.
Never take seriously those who ridicule low income people for having a smartphone or laptop.

“If they’re so poor how did they buy an iPhone???”

Because they’re trying to escape poverty, not the 1700s, genius. If you think basic tech access is unnecessary or a luxury, survive a month without it.

can we find a bunch of journalists to push the notion that one day AI will replace CEOs?

I find it so funny that for the longest time people would tout capitalism as a way of “voting with your pocketbook” but now that everyone is mocking tesla and cyber trucks and whatnot, a common response is “but this one doesn’t count. don’t judge me.”

Canada does not have anywhere close to as big of “a drug problem” as the United States and there’s absolutely no evidence Canada supplies a significant amount of fentanyl to the US. Americans drive both fentanyl supply and fentanyl demand in the US, and this admin has avoided addressing those things
Kevin Hassett suggests Canadian authorities are covering up major fentanyl operations: "I can tell you that in the situation room I've seen photographs of fentanyl labs in Canada that the law enforcement folks were leaving alone. Canada's got a big drug problem."

I wonder how much online conspiracy/qanon/unhinged bullshit is a result of men reading fewer and fewer books every year. Used to be these people would be stuck in an 800 page Tom Clancy novel, not bothering anyone. But now they don’t even do that anymore. They’re online talking to each other.

Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.

This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.

(Even better: Tesla will hate this)
Cars will need fewer screens and more buttons to earn five-star safety rating in Europe
Euro NCAP will release new testing guidelines in 2026.

Found this podcast, Alternate Realities, documenting a family’s attempts to keep their father’s online radicalization in conspiracy theories from destroying the family. Didn’t know what to expect and have been blown away.

It’s so relatable and so tragic. Is it really possible to reach these people?

I am relatively happy with the experience on Blue Sky. it feels like old twitter. I can actually stay on for about 10 min before i’m filled with rage. that’s about 10x as long as twitter now.

one of my most liked tweets was one in which I defended a lawyer who publicly admitted his clients guilt. the client was an idiot and the lawyer essentially agreed.
