Happy book release day to Resilience Beyond Rebellion!
I couldn’t be more proud (or relieved) to finally see this in the world.

Interested in rebel orgs? Conflict termination? Organizational theory? Fun side quests about etymology? A random anecdote about the US navy? Ofc you are! a.co/d/64Tulfh

Oh so it does have phd level intelligence
Google Gemini doesn’t appear to be doing too well:

‘"I am a disgrace to this planet. I am a disgrace to this universe. I am a disgrace to all universes . . . I am a disgrace to all possible and impossible universes and all that is not a universe," the bot continued.’
Google says it's working on a fix for Gemini's self-loathing 'I am a failure' comments
Google Gemini users said the bot is sharing self-loathing messages while attempting to solve tasks, including "I am a disgrace to this universe."

things I didn’t have on my 2025 bingo card:
(1) rooting for Harvard
(2) rooting for the current peer review process.

We truly aren’t talking enough about how scary this is
If you don't watch the White House briefings regularly it's impossible to explain just how weird they are with all of the fringe right-wing influencers.

The last question of the briefing was whether Trump would share his "fitness plan" because he "looks healthier than ever before."

NIH scientists have a cancer breakthrough. Layoffs are delaying it.
A big step forward in cancer therapy has been slowed by layoffs and new restrictions at the National Institutes of Health, where it was developed.

I pressed “quote repost,” but I find myself speechless.
This feels like the defining image from this year’s Midwest Political Science Association annual meeting.

The National Science Foundatipn paid for a booth in the exhibit hall. But the booth sits empty, because NSF has been DOGE’d, and there is no one left to send.

Okay but what if we start referring to (a lot of) cosmetic surgery as “gender affirming care”…?

Check out my latest article, "Repurposing Rebellion" online at @ejir.bsky.social. In it, I leverage tools from organizational sociology to model the different pathways militant groups take to transform into successful political parties.

I have been listening to @kairyssdal.bsky.social report on the economy since the 2008 recession. This hit really hard.
I'm honestly running out of words I can use on the air to describe what's happening in and to this economy

As predicted, women in New Hampshire had a hard time voting yesterday because of the new proof of citizenship law:

“It doesn’t have my married name on it,” she said. Town voting officials then sent her away a second time, to get her marriage certificate.

NH’s new ID requirements send some would-be voters home to grab passports, birth certificates
The law requires all new voters to show proof of their U.S. citizenship. For some, that meant making multiple trips to and from the polls before finally casting a ballot on Tuesday.

Hmmm, do you think that maybe it was a bad idea for universities to not support students protesting last year? Would be sort of nice to have some of that energy now.
