I know this in my bones when I ask any one of my female friends.
We don't count the toll the mental load takes on us, and our bodies. We rush around, "keeping busy", because when we take a few minutes to ourselves, we cry in our car during our commutes.

Nothing like knowing a friend well enough that when you see them and you ask how they’re doing and they give you a “Doin’ fine!” and you can see that’s utter bullshit.
I had a friend try that and then when I looked at her squarely and asked how she’s really doing…definitely wasn’t fine.

Jim got up before 6 to drive into town for blood work. I'm showered and half-caff caffeinated.
Being up early reminds me of the old familiarity of getting ready for work. I don't miss working one bit, but I miss doing my hair & makeup, the outfits, and my shoe and purse collection 🤣

If Carney keeps appropriating CPC policies - lower taxes, smaller govt, more foreign investment, more LNG and oil&gas exports, military partnering w the US, rapprochement w India & China - the CPC will have nothing left to call their own but bigotry & the belief that vax contain tiny razor blades.

Yesterday, I participated in Halloween for the first time since 2016.
And by 'participated', I mean I made up treat bags, offering them up with a sign and lights at the end of my rural driveway.
It was a huge effort for me and I am pretty proud of myself for a start to actually finished task.
