Like many creators, I’ve dealt with stalking that has threatened my well-being over the years. This instance was the most insidious, so I’m now pursuing a restraining order.

while Gavin Newsom is busy trolling Trump, Bay Area transit is *about to collapse* because he refuses to sign the 750 million dollar loan he promised in July to keep BART/Caltrain/AC Transit/Muni afloat until 2027 - but we can still stop service cuts!!

Advocates have been saying this exact thing would happen for years now but we now have the data to confirm: these cars were never meant to drive more safely than humans. They were just supposed to make big tech more money.
The behavior of Waymo’s self-driving taxis has apparently shifted in recent weeks or months, based on safety data collected by the company, and it means the cars are doing certain things more like real people do behind the wheel. buff.ly/O67rtMi

Last Friday (5/9), a computer issue suspended all BART service from before 5am until after 9am. While service was restored before the end of the morning rush, the resulting traffic impacts were felt for the rest of the day, showing just how important BART is and why we need to protect its future 1/5

Really bad take from where I sit (behind the wheel of a bus) because so much of the skill of an operator relies on human skills like intuiting the intentions of other humans. A surprising fraction of my work is reading faces, body language and gestures.
My personal idea of paradise would be abundant bus services with well-paid contented human drivers.
But the challenge is real. It's hard to hire enough drivers, and expensive to do what's needed to respect their humanity. So I don't think this conversation can be suppressed. 11/11

Really bad take from where I sit (behind the wheel of a bus) because so much of the skill of an operator relies on human skills like intuiting the intentions of other humans. A surprising fraction of my work is reading faces, body language and gestures.
it’s sad to see so many people blaming atu and the vta drivers for the strike, instead of vta execs for not paying their workers fairly and giving them adequate working conditions
